The general consensus is that this is a down year for the SEC. While you can agree or disagree, it's hard to argue that this game between the Auburn Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide isn't at least intriguing.
This one really sets up to be exciting, as not only are these two schools the bitterest of rivals, they are also both playing decently.
I have been claiming Auburn is a tournament team, and I think if the do make the big dance, they are at least a Sweet Sixteen caliber team. They can beat anyone on any given night. The Tigers have won 6 of their last 7, with their only loss coming to conference champ LSU.
Alabama has won three in a row, and while it may be too little too late to go to the big dance without a SEC Tournament win, the Tide finally won a road game last week. They have some momentum to take with them if they get into the NIT or into next season.
