The Program: Michigan Looks to Finally 'Get Right' Against UMass This Saturday
On Saturday, the Michigan Wolverines should have one goal on their minds against UMass—grabbing a convincing win to stabilize their 2012 season.
Last week against Air Force, the Wolverines were unable to get that solid win. They instead had to ride quarterback Denard Robinson to a close victory against the Falcons' precision attack.
This week, it's everyone else's turn to step up.
Let Robinson throw the ball around a bit, keep him out of harm's way and allow the offensive line to establish itself. Robinson will need help in the run game, and against an undersized, undertalented UMass team, now is when other rushing threats should emerge.
On defense, Air Force had its way on the ground with Michigan's personnel. Now is the time for that unit to grab a little confidence and remind itself that it's a group of quality ballplayers.
The opening bludgeoning by Alabama was humbling. The escape against Air Force was sobering. In Week 3, it's time for the Wolverines to work out their kinks.
