Heath Farwell of the Minnesota Vikings Could Be Heading East

There are unconfirmed sources that say Vikings LB and special teams ace Heath Farwell is airborne—no, not like shot out of a cannon.

Farwell was supposedly spotted at Minneapolis/St. Paul airport today, and he was getting on a plane to Boston.

This means one of two possible things:

1. Farwell has begun his round of visits that have been reported to have started Tuesday, and the Patriots are going to get the first crack at him.

2. Farwell has seen the Matt Hasselbeck Expedia commercial so many times, that it inspired a little trip to Nantucket.

I think we can rule out the trip to Nantucket.

It has been reported that there are six teams interested in Farwell, not including the Vikings, who have stated their desire to retain him.

Farwell led the Vikings in special teams tackles, and was voted special teams MVP in both '06 and '07.

But he suffered a season ending injury during the first pre-season game. He is said to be fully recovered, and training at 100 percent.

The Vikings special teams in 2008 gave up a league worst—and NFL record—seven touchdowns without Farwell.
