Men's Golf, Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer

When I ask who the face of golf is who are you gunna say?

Retorical question cause we all know the answer.Tiger woods.

In his career, he simply has redefined the game of golf by his humble attitude and pure essence of golf. His ablity to read a shot, and complete it, has become a spectical to see. No one makes the shot like Tiger, not even Nicklaus was able to do what Woods has done.

Tiger was victorious in the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Tiger Woods tied Ben Hogan on the all-time PGA Tour wins list. The win today became his 64th career win and puts im only behind Snead and Nicklaus for total wins. It was easy to say Tiger won this win, a cinematic ending on the putting green.

Tiger sank a 25 ft putt to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational by one stroke.

Right after the shot sank, Tiger grabbed his hat and slammed it off the ground and barked out a roar in celebration.

Bart Bryant hit the right shots on the back nine and keept pressure on the world's No. 1 player, and was sitting in the scoring trailer when the largest crowd in golf this year erupted in cheers when the birdie putt fell.

Tiger has become the most dominate athlete of his generation.

Following his career is a full-time job since he wins non-stop. This seaon he is 5-0 and looking to go 6-0 after the CA Chapionship at Doral. At this point he seems unstoppable, like a big winning machine.

It should be intresting to see if he will lose.

After Bart Bryant lost to Tiger, becoming another victim, he said, "That's why he's Tiger Woods,". "He has an incredible way of pulling off the shot or the putt when he needs to. He's done it before. He'll do it again."

Players know that when Tiger Woods is on the course, you have to bring your A game.

  1. "This seaon (sic) he is 5-0"

    Pretty sure he's 3-0 this season on the PGA tour, 4-0 counting Dubai.

  2. Nope check espn.com he is actually 5-0

  3. Ok, let's see.

    From http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/schedule, PGA wins in 2008
    ---
    * Buick Invitational, Torrey Pines, Jan. 24 - Jan. 27.
    * WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, Gallery, Feb. 20 - Feb. 24

    PGA win not yet recorded on that page as of this writing
    --
    * Arnold Palmer Invitational, Bay Hill, Mar. 13 - Mar. 16

    Hope over to europeantour.com, look at their schedule
    --
    * Dubai Desert Classic, Emirate, 31 Jan - 03 Feb

    (They also list the match play championship, since that falls on both tours.)

    I see 4. Where's the 5th?

    He's won 6 PGA tournaments in a row, as best I can tell, dating back to the 3 FedEx cup tournaments he won, but that's the last 3 of 2007, and the first 3 of 2008.

  4. And there's his unofficial Target(?) tournament, but that's also from last year.

    (Wouldn't surprise me if some careless journalist on ESPN said he was 5-0 this year, but that's hardly worth rewriting history for.)

  5. http://sports.espn.go.com/golf/news/story?id=3296621

    check it out.

  6. ESPN says (accurately) that he won his 5th straight PGA tournament. 3-0 this year, won his last 2 last year (turns out I mis-remembered - he only won 2 FedEx cup events, finishing 2nd to Phil in another, and skipping one).

    That does not mean he's 5-0 this "seaon".

    Other typos in the story, while we're at it:
    "gunna" => "gonna"
    "Retorical" => "Rhetorical"
    "all know the answer.Tiger woods." is missing a space and a capital "W"
    "spectical" => "spectacle"
    "puts im only" => "him"
    "dominate" => "dominant"
    "intresting" => "interesting"

    And in the interest of completeness, I added a "e" to "Hop" in my earlier reply.

  7. Your attention to detail is stupendous.

    Appreciate your interest in my work

    And in the interest of completeness, it is I added "an" "e" to "Hop"
