FULL TIME: USA 1, JAMAICA 0
Jamaica is now in third place in Group A, albeit on goal difference behind the U.S. and Guatemala. After their historic win Friday, the Jamaicans never really looked like winning tonight.
The U.S. played very well in the first half and hit the woodwork three times. Herculez Gomez's second-half goal owed a bit to bad play from Jamaica keeper Dwayne Miller, but in the end, the U.S. totally deserved all three points.
So with two matches left in the semifinal round, is everything back to being fine?
FULL TIME: USA 1, JAMAICA 0
Stoppage time passes uneventfully, with the U.S. ending on the attack. The final whistle sounds and the U.S. wins 1-0.
It's a deserved win, if a bit nervy at the very end. No matter. The Americans are back on top of their qualifying group.

88'—BREAK IN PLAY
Jermaine Jones is lying on the pitch, clutching his face.
This could help the U.S. right now. The Americans look a bit nervous.
Jones is back up quickly and play resumes.
86'—USA 1, JAM 0
The U.S. defense is holding out well, as Jamaica tries to attack more. In fact, the U.S. is still pushing forward some too.
Jermaine Jones gets forward and tries to pick out Altidore, to no avail.

81'—SAVE!
Tim Howard stretches out to his left to save a long-distance shot from Rodolph Austin.
The U.S. defense can't fall asleep here…
80'—USA SUB
Here's the last sub for the U.S. Jozy Altidore replaces Herculez Gomez, the goalscorer.
Altidore has played well early this season for AZ Alkmaar. Can he grab a goal here?
76'—JAMAICA SUBS
Dane Richards replaces Omar Cummings. Moments ago, Tremaine Stewart replaced Jevaughn Watson.

72'—SUB
Maurice Edu replaces Graham Zusi.
Zusi was great in the first half, but it's good to have Edu's experience shoring up the midfield for the end of the match.

69'—JAMAICA CHANCE!
A Jamaica cross comes in from the right, and Ryan Johnson is lurking at the back post, but Steve Cherundolo heads the ball out for a corner.
He's been great tonight, but that was worrying for the U.S. The midfield collapsed too easily.
67'—SUBS
Brek Shea replaces Jose Torres for the U.S. Torres played well enough, especially in the first half.
Kavin Bryan replaces Luton Shelton for Jamaica.

62'—YELLOW CARD
U.S. midfielder Graham Zusi receives a yellow card. Not sure what for.
The U.S. is sitting back a bit more now, after scoring the breakthrough goal. Is that a good strategy?
61'—USA 1, JAM 0
If results stay the same, the U.S. would top Group A, level on points with Jamaica and Guatemala. The tie-breaker would be the U.S. goal difference and goals scored.
59'—SHOT!
Jamaica's Omar Cummings shoots wide low at the near post. Looked like Tim Howard had that one covered.

MORE ON THE GOAL
Gomez curls the ball over the wall with his right foot. Jamaica keeper Dwayne Miller gets his hands to the ball, and the shot is not particularly well placed, but it goes into the net anyway.
We'll take it. That should change the game quite a bit.
It's Gomez's fifth goal for the U.S.
55'—GOAL!
And Gomez gives the U.S. a lead with a great free kick!
54'—USA 0, JAM 0
Dempsey wins a free kick in the middle for the U.S. Jose Torres and Herculez Gomez stand over the ball.

49'—USA 0, JAM 0
Dempsey gives the ball away in the middle, and Luton Shelton drives at the U.S. defense.
He shoots from the left, but the ball flies over the bar.
Let-off for Dempsey…
48'—USA 0, JAM 0
At halftime, Jurgen Klinsmann talked about the U.S. doing the same thing in this second half, but pushing even harder.
So far it's still more of the same, except Jamaica has had more possession lately.

HALFTIME: USA 0, JAMAICA 0
The first half ends the way it started—with the ball in the Jamaica half. The U.S. has dominated but the match is scoreless heading into halftime.
The U.S. hit the woodwork three times, and maintained 79 percent of possession. Graham Zusi and Steve Cherundolo were excellent on the right, and overall it's been a solid performance.
Can the Yanks finally find a goal in the second half?
