Marquette Slips Five Spots

It was not a good week for Marquette basketball. After winning their game against Georgetown last weekend to kick off "The Stretch," Marquette had to take on two of the top teams in all of the land in UConn and Louisville.

Despite playing hard in both contests, the Golden Eagles ultimately lost both games, as well as the services of Dominic James.

It was a very disappointing week for a team that was really starting to turn heads on a national level.

Because of the rough patch, there are now five more teams that are better than Marquette than there were a week ago, at least that's what the rankings tell me.
Marquette fell five spots in both of the polls, falling to No. 13 in the Associated Press Poll, and No. 15 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll.
Marquette could have fallen a bit more, but it helps when the teams you lost to are now ranked No. 1 (UConn) and No. 6 (Louisville.)
As for the Badgers, well, they are obviously still unranked, so this is where the post ends.
