NFL Week 2: New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers Preview and Predictions
You never want to say Week 2 of the NFL season is a must-win for a team, but this NFC South clash between two teams that were shocked in Week 1 is a pretty important game for both the New Orleans Saints and the Carolina Panthers.
Was RGIII that good? Were the Saints having a bounty-gate hangover? Despite Drew Brees throwing for 339 yards and three touchdowns, he was picked off and actually looked out of sync.
The Saints defense let RGIII do whatever he wanted, giving up 40 points to the Redskins in their home opener.
Carolina was introduced to the new kids on the NFC South block when it got thumped by the tenacious Tampa defense. Warning: This stat is hard to believe. The Panthers were limited to 10 rushing yards for the entire game. Yes, 10 rushing yards—a franchise low for Carolina.
While Cam Newton put up impressive numbers—303 yards and two touchdowns—he also was picked off twice in the Panthers' upset loss to the Bucs.
