In theory, life is peachy for Laker fans and Kobe Bryant. They have a balanced roster, fit with the game's best center and one of its best point guards. Pau Gasol is an All-Star, if not a superstar, and yet he's the fourth option on this high-powered team.
What could possibly go wrong? Despite an excellent track record, the Lakers have demonstrated that perfect situations can quickly devolve into something else. Shaq and Kobe should have won twice as many titles, and Magic Johnson's career ended about five seasons too soon.
So what are the main obstacles in L.A.'s way as it forges forth with this reloaded roster? How can a super-team meet its demise?
