Women Weaken Legs

To the average guy there is no downside to marrying a supermodel, especially if that model happens to be one of the sexiest women alive. After tying the knot with Victoria Secret goddess Adriana Lima on Valentine’s Day, one would think Memphis Grizzles guard Marko Jaric would be the happiest man in the world.

However, since the newlyweds' return from their honeymoon, Jaric’s professional career has taken an unexpected turn. In the four games since consummating his marriage to the bombshell once nicknamed The World’s Most Voluptuous Virgin, Jaric has not made a single shot and is 0 for 12 from the field.

So apart from the complete obvious—how does a knucklehead like Marco Jaric, the same idiot who struggles to put his jersey on properly (see video link below), have the ability to not only hook up with such a perfect woman and be impressive enough to make her decide the he is “the one”?—but also, does this confirm that sex has a direct effect on athletic performance?

It’s no secret that some athletes like boxers and professional fighters abstain from sex while training for a bout, or that before big games like the Super Bowl coaches do not allow players to have women (even wives) in hotel rooms.

Until now one might think that these practices were merely acts of superstition, and held no real validity.

But is it possible that Marco Jaric’s recent demise is no coincidence and is not the only instance of a flaccid performance in the spectrum of sport? And is it possible that sexy women might have other idiosyncratic effects on athletes?

Amazingly, looking back in recent events in sport, one would have to conclude that there is certainly a direct correlation between women and their ability to crack the minds of athletes who normally have the uncanny ability to block out thousands of booing fans and perform under unthinkable pressure and circumstances.

Not convinced?

Here’s the proof.

Case No. 1—Tony Romo

In 2007, only a few short days after returning from a Mexican getaway with Jessica Simpson, shining star quarterback Tony Romo fumbled the snap on field goal attempt that finished the Cowboys' aspirations of making the Super Bowl, and the Cowboys have yet to recover.

Case No. 2—Tiger Woods

After Tiger Woods’ impressive win over Rocco Mediate in last year's U.S. Open, it might be impossible to think that anything could faze the greatest golfer to ever play the game. However back in 2004, after courting Swedish-model Elin Nordegren, Tiger clearly lost his focus and his No. 1 world ranking.

Oddly enough, the side effects of having a gorgeous woman on your arm can branch off from poor athlete performances. It seemingly can also be hazardous to one's health.

Case No. 3—Reggie Bush

Once touted as one of the most explosive and dynamic running backs to enter the NFL, Reggie Bush was expected to change the game. After an impressive rookie year that helped turn around the once-laughable New Orleans Saints, Bush started to date the sexy socialite Kim Kardashian.

In the last two seasons since, he has become injury-prone, failing to complete a full season, and has also seen his numbers significantly dwindle.

Case No. 4—Tony Parker

Although it is hard to dispute the Frenchman’s numbers, since marrying "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria, Parker has also been hit with the injury bug with subsequent lower body and ankle injuries.

In a radical shift, women seemingly can have a vast impact on a players' psyches, cause them to act irrationally, and ultimately put their athletic careers in jeopardy.

Case No. 5—Mike Tyson

After his highly publicized divorce from actress Robin Givens, Tyson would go on one of sports most notorious spiral downfalls. Less then a year after parting ways with the "Head of The Class" starlet, Iron Mike would crash his BMW into a tree, be charged (and subsequent fined) for battery, shockingly get knocked out and lose his heavyweight title (which he would never regain) to Buster Douglas, go to jail for rape, bite off Evander Hollyfield’s ear, get his face tattooed and never box professionally again.

Case No. 6—Sean Avery

After parting ways with ex-supermodel Rachel Hunter and puck-bunny hottie Elisha Cuthbert, the hockey pest made comments to media revolving around sloppy seconds. Within hours, Avery was immediately suspended for “conduct detrimental to the league or the game of hockey.”

The Dallas Stars would then place the troubled player on waivers and is now playing in the minors. Despite Avery’s known image of being a nuisance on and off the ice, it might be worth taking into consideration that there is a possibility that all of his irritant issues stem solely from failed relationships with extremely attractive women.

Ultimately there are probably countless cases where beautiful women have led to the demise of athletes around the world, and an infinite amount that that will soon see their careers in turmoil at the heads of an irresistible woman.

Are all men suckers?

If anything is to be learned here is that nothing free from consequence, especially when it comes to beautiful women. Granted it is impossible to feel even the slightest bit of pity for any of these athletes—seriously, have you seen Adriana Lima (et al.)???!!!

It is quite possible that these are the women that are responsible for the phrase “I would give my _______ to get with that girl!”
