Michael Boley and Rocky Bernard will make huge impacts on the New York Giants defense.
These two players, both having their own special qualities and skills, will better an already very good Giants defense.
The one area the Giants really struggled in last year was their linebackers going into the coverage with a running back or a tight end.
Everybody remembers Antonio Pierce trying chase down Brian Westbrook for basically the entire game. Michael Boley will change that because he is very good in pass coverage.
Boley is very fast for a linebacker and will help the Giants out in coverage in that 10 to 15 yards down the field range. Yet, he is a little undersized so he struggles in the stopping the run.
On the totally opposite side of the spectrum, Rocky Bernard is a rock in the middle of the defensive line and will plug up the opponents run game.
The Giants lacked depth at defensive tackle last year with only Jay Alford coming in to substitute for the starters, Barry Cofield and Fred Robbins. Bernard can now come in at anytime for those three guys and be a very solid player.
Bernard will now emerge into that last piece of the puzzle that the Giants needed to complete an already outstanding defensive line.
These two signings for the Giants were great and made an already good defense, that much better.
