Lewis Hamilton Hype Still Strong

The hype of the World Champion is still strong

Lewis won the 2008 Formula 1 season and the British press including Bernie Ecclestone's own website is pushing hard for the young British driver. But is he that amazing?

I have followed Formula 1 for many years now, and I can understand that the British media is falling for Lewis, he has filled a wacum that was left after Damon Hill in 1996. In his first season he could had taken the title, but failed. There was to much pressure on him. Not from the team. Mclaren trashed the World Champion, Fernando Alonso that they had just contracted, so Lewis could get a chance at the title. The pressure came from him self and lead to him overcooking a corner and handing Kimi the Title.

He came back and in 2008 a bit more mature and with 110 percent backing from the team. McLaren has a long history in not favoring one driver, at least that was what the former team principal Ron Dennis claims, but for the rest of the world it was clear to see that Heikki Kovalainen was always given unfair chances with heavy fuel loads and bad strategy.

The 2009 Season is just around the corner and the hype is getting stronger and stronger even on the expense of other drivers. Lewis has compared him self to the most famous F1 driver Ayrton Senna, like a little spoiled kid.

Let's all make sure we keep our feet on the ground and hype him for what he is good at and not building him a castle just yet. He has to stop making mistakes and win a lot more titles, let's say eight World titles before we can start talking about him being equal to a star.
