Nashville Predators Are Optimistic NHL Can Avoid Lockout

The NHL and the players’ union plan to meet today with hopes of taking significant steps toward an agreement that would allow the 2012-13 season to start on time. Training camps are supposed to open in about a month, but before that happens a new collective-bargaining agreement needs to be in place by Sept. 15, when the current CBA expires.
