Welcome to another crazy edition of Big Sports News! Today we’ll be talking about the biggest topics from MLB. Phew! I haven’t written a Big Sports News article of the MLB for a while. Well, baseball fans, I’m back!

Big Sports News can help your fantasy teams. It can envy your friends of how much you of what’s going on. It could also make you cool, well not really. But still, here’s my inside scoop!

NLCS
Blake DeWitt
For the first time since high school, DeWitt is going to play shortstop. The Dodgers asked the infielder for the shortstop.
They saw DeWitt doing pretty good in practice. Larry Bowa, the third base coach, said that DeWitt was a good pupil, hitting good, reading good.

“I don’t know what his range is going to be, but he gets good jumps, good reads,” Bowa said. “He just has good instincts wherever you put him.”

DeWitt is looking forward to this miracle.

Curt Schilling

This is a big scoop for The Sports Guys. Schilling has said that he will make a comeback, but to a championship-caliber team.

The teams? Rays or Cubs. “Absolutely I’ll come back,” the 42-year-old said. He was grinning and was laying back and relaxed.

Schilling lead his Diamondbacks to a World Series in 2001. Then in 2004, he lead the Red Sox’s to their first World Series win in 86 years! In 2007, Schilling and the Red Sox went back to the Series and won another one to earn Schilling’s third ring!

“The challenge would be in a place like Tampa Bay or Chicago,” Schilling said. This would be a challenge. The Cubs have already spread some interest in the 42-year-old comeback-pitcher.

“We’ll always keep our eye on anybody who might help us,” Jim Hendry, the Cubs’ general manager, told us. “I have a lot of respect for him. He’s a great big-game pitcher. But I didn’t know a thing about it till [reporters] told me.” Well what are you going to do about it?

Cleveland Indians vs. Chicago White Sox

The Blue Jays have spread the most interest in Cabrera than any other team has right now. The Blue Jays have wanted Cabrera for over a four-year span! They talked to his agent last winter about signing the man. Now if the Jays sign him, I probably might use the Jays in MLB 2K9. Cabrera has said his word: He likes Toronto.

Other teams have spread interest. The Athletics has had their share but it looks to me the Jays are going to get Cabrera, now that Jason Giambi (BALCO man) has returned to the A’s.
