Washington Redskins Economic Stimulus

Did the Washington Redskins really just sign defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to a seven year/$100 million dollar contract? Wow. The Redskins’ front office unquestionably has some brass-balls. This is like going ‘all-in’ on a draw in poker; exceedingly ballsy, and a toss up.

Haynesworth hasn’t played a full season since his rookie year due to injuries and is frequently on the sideline sucking down oxygen from the oxygen tank. He is notorious for having anger issues (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5nlEA8BUTQ) and a lack of motivation. 100 million is a ridiculous sum of money to risk on a player whose health, temper, and motivation are in question.

The Redskins also made DeAngelo Hall one of the highest paid CBs in the league by giving him a six year, $54 million dollar contract. Hall is not worth that kind of money. The Redskins are awfully charitable. [Read more...]
