Every season in every league has matchups that makes fans drool. Ligue 1 has not had many of those over the last few years, but PSG against Lille is one of those games.

Everyone is well aware of the high-profile and expensive moves PSG made the last two summers. The additions of Ibrahimovic, Silva and others has made this team the clear favorites in Ligue 1.

In an effort to keep pace, Lille, only a season removed from their Ligue 1 title, used the money from the Eden Hazard sale wisely. Adding Marvin Martin and Salomon Kalou to augment their attack was an affordable option to try to keep pace with the Parisians.

This matchup pits arguably the two most talented teams in Ligue 1. The star power in this matchup is greater than any other matchup in the league.

Both teams are favorites for qualifying spots for Champions League. Most predictions have them finishing one-two in the table. Each team has the opportunity to send an early-season message to their biggest obstacle to the title, and that should bring out the best in these two excellent clubs.

The matchup of Lille's attacking style of play against the controlled scheme of PSG lends itself to a potential high-scoring affair. Both defenses should be under tremendous pressure from the start.

This matchup will also go down in the new stadium Lille opened recently. This beautiful facility is the perfect stage to showcase what should be the best game of the Ligue 1 season.
