Notre Dame vs. Navy Highlight: Watch Fan Interrupt Play with Irish Jig
Oh, the things that can happen when you take college football to Ireland.
The 35,000 Americans in attendance and thousands of Irish natives who turned out to watch the Notre Dame vs. Navy game in Dublin, Ireland, may not be treated to a close ballgame, but they were treated to a highly entertaining dance from a fan.
Play was halted during the game when a fan ran onto the field to do a little jig. The fan, rocking an awesome Mohawk hat with a British flag, ran onto the field, football in tow, to do a cool little jig in the end zone.
That's what can happen when you play a game in Ireland. As you can see in the hilarious clip, the fan is quite the dancer; he received a supportive reaction from the crowd.
The dancer picked up his ball and went home just before security started heading his direction to end his moment of notoriety.
Brian Kelly's squad was already up 33-10 when play was interrupted. With Kelly's new quarterback Everett Golson playing so well and a comfortable lead, who could blame the fans for getting a little restless and wanting to spice things up a bit?
The traditional Irishman mascot might want to watch out: After such an impressive performance, he might have someone looking to take his job.
Fans may not remember this early-season blowout, but this is definitely one of the highlights of this young season.
