Nate DunlevyJun 7, 2018

The Tennessee Titans released their roster moves to the public last night.

According to Jim Wyatt and John Glennon of The Tennessean, the following moves were made.

The Titans released Devin Aguilar, Brandon Barden, Zach Clayton, Kyle DeVan, Lamar Divens, Aaron Francisco, Cameron Graham, Chris Hawkins, Michael Jasper, James Kirkendoll, Collin Mooney, Chris Morris, Michael Preston, Malcolm Sheppard, Tracy Wilson and D.J. Woods

They also placed several players on injured injured reserve. Dave Ball, Leger Douzable, Ryan Durand, Kevin Malast and Terrence Wheatley.

It's important to note that Kenny Britt's suspension means the Titans will have to make an additional cut after he comes off the suspended list next week.

The cut list contained some upsets of the most mild fashion, as Al Alfalava was kept and Francisco was released. Both are end of the roster secondary players, but Paul Kuharksy of ESPN.com expressed surprise at the decision.

All of the Titans' draft picks made the final 53-man squad with the exception of Markelle Martin who is on the PUP list and will be evaluated after Week 6 of the regular season. They did cut 2011 seventh-round pick Zach Clayton in a move that leaves the Titans a little thin on the interior.

For the most part, however, any commentary on the moves boils down to hair-splitting. The Titans kept some lesser-known players, but with the possible exception of Francisco, it's difficult to argue they let go of anyone who had done enough to earn a spot.

They did keep three quarterbacks, by keeping Rusty Smith around, but that's hardly a surprise. With the mobile Jake Locker starting and the older Matt Hasselbeck backing him up, keeping another viable quarterback on the roster is a sensible decision.

This article will be updated with signings and practice squad moves as they develop.

UPDATE: The Titans announced via press release that the following players are now on the practice squad: TE Brandon Barden, DT Zach Clayton, FB Collin Mooney, WR Michael Preston and S Tracy Wilson.

UPDATE #2: Wyatt reports the Titans added Darren Evans a running back, to the practice squad.

UPDATE #3: Per team press release, the Titans add WR Vidal Hazelton to the practice squad as well.
