Was It Too Soon To Trade Matt Cassel To the Kansas City Chiefs?

Well, as we all should know, Matt Cassel of the New England Patriots has been traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for some draft picks. Now, I do believe that New England got the better end of the deal, but who is to say that Tom Brady will be ready to start for New England by the beginning of next year?

As a Boston fan, I know all about Tom "Terrific" Brady. He is one of, if not the, most talented quarterback in the NFL today, but he did suffer a very serious injury last year and missed all of the 2008-2009 NFL season.

Last year, Cassel did make an impact on the NFL. His revealing how much talent he had was the biggest surprise during the season.

Sure, this could have been lucky due to all of the players like Randy Moss who have his back, or even the pressure might have made him perform better.

Or he could have become a phenomenal quarterback that New England might regret trading in the future.

The reason I say this is because Tom might still have some knee problems by the beginning of the season as I said before.

Also, he might suffer from rust since he has not played since the 2007-08 Super Bowl. Or, Tom will revert back to his old ways and become the star he always was. But you cannot tell me his is assured to be ready for the preseason.

In conclusion, I would have been very happy if this were to happen later in the offseason or even very early in the preseason. But, now we know what the Chiefs got and we will know what the Patriots will have received by the NFL Draft.

As far as Tom goes, if he ends up missing a good amount of time next season, let's hope that they draft a quality backup.
