The Matt Cassel era in New England ended just about when everyone expected it to.

The team traded their "franchised" QB to the Chiefs. The Pats will reportedly get a second round pick as compensation, though that has not been confirmed.

It is also rumored that this was part of the Mike Vrabel deal.

The Chiefs have the third overall pick in the draft, as well as TE Tony Gonzalez and RB Larry Johnson who want out. One of them could also end up as part of the overall package.

UPDATE: ProFootballTalk is reporting that the Chiefs will send their second round pick for both players.
