All Roads Lead to the Kansas City Chiefs Drafting Aaron Curry?

As all of you should know by now the Chiefs traded for Matt Cassel and Mike Vrable for the 34th overall pick in the draft.

Most just assumed that Vrable was just a shoo-in that only has a year or two left in the tank before he will retire. But, I beg to differ.

Vrable strikes to me as a playing coach, and that makes me wonder if it is a lock that Aaron Curry is a Kansas City Chiefs. With Vrable teaching and leading Curry to make Curry one of the best in the game.

This could end up making Pioli looking like a genius. Cassel is to become the franchise quarterback, and Vrable is to become the starting linebacker, and all the Chiefs had to give up was a second round pick!

Aaron Curry is ranked as the No. 1 draft prospect in the '09 draft according to He has tremendous talent and with a spectacular combine he finds himself jumping Texas Tech receiver Micheal Crabtree.

Curry is made to play the 3-4 defense, which is what GM Scott Pioli wants to run. Curry is an above average pass rusher and is more durable than Superman.

Some speculate that Pioli most likely is going to trade down to accumulate more picks. They could trade down to 10 through 12 and be able to get the second ranked linebacker, Rey Maualuga from USC.

They would then get either next years first round pick or a pick for next year.

It almost looks too good to be true, let's just hope it happens.
