Two hours remain in the summer transfer window. The deadline in most countries is set to pass at 6 p.m. ET.
It's all gone quiet for now. A few big deals could still happen, though.
While we wait, here's the latest from Sky Sports on the Clint Dempsey to Liverpool saga.
Sky Sources: Liverpool's bid for Clint Dempsey was £4m & club refuse to offer higher. Aston Villa bid £5m plus £2m add-ons #skydeadlineday

And…
Sky Sources: Liverpool also offered a deal to Fulham involving Jordan Henderson & Charlie Adam but neither player was interested #SSN

Well of course neither player was interested. Wouldn't you rather stay at Liverpool as opposed to joining Fulham? Exactly.
Anyway, £4 million does seem a bit low for Dempsey, even though he is 29 and even though he does only have a year left on his contract. I think that if Liverpool upped their offer a bit, they could have him.
That is, of course, if all this is true. Something tells me, though, that Sky's sources are good on this one.
Meanwhile, American international defender Carlos Bocanegra has joined Racing Santander, a club in Spain's second tier. He leaves Rangers after the Scottish giants were relegated to the fourth tier for massive financial issues.
Here's the link to Racing Santander's official website. It's in Spanish.
Stay tuned. We'll keep the updates coming through the transfer deadline, all the way to 7 p.m. ET.
