As expected, Fulham have completed a deadline day deal for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.

Said Berbatov, as per Fulham's official website:

I'm delighted to have signed for Fulham and I look forward to playing under Martin Jol once again.

As soon as I was aware of Fulham's interest my decision to join was an easy one to make. I'm impressed with the set up here and the people have made me feel welcome. There is a close and personal feel around the club and I can't wait to get started.

The Guardian have speculated a fee of £5 million will change hands between the clubs, for a player United signed for £30 million from Spurs in 2008.

Berbatov scored 20 Premier League goals for United in the 2010-11 season, but was unable to hold down a regular starting spot last season and has gradually drifted out of the reckoning at Old Trafford.

Does Fulham's signing of the Bulgarian confirm we should expect Clint Dempsey to be going elsewhere? You'd think so.
