Sidney Crosby Is a Whiner

Complainer and whiner are interchangeable, of course. The next closest players were Chris Pronger at eight percent and Sean Avery at seven percent. Now that says something.

Fans like myself can say whatever they wish, but they don't know the whole story. They are not the ones who are out on the ice. The players know the real story. They are the ones who are on the ice seeing and hearing what Crosby does and doesn't do. Recently Adam Burish chimed in about Crosby and his whining.

And what does Ilya Kovachuk have to say about Crosby?

"These are emotions. Ovechkin did everything right. You have to play hockey. Show on the ice what you are capable of. And the weak talk a lot. Ovechkin proved everything—scored a goal and Washington won. He had a full right to his gesture."

When he was asked about how Crosby thinks Ovechkin is a dirty player, he said this:

"Then no one at all should play hockey! The rules in the NHL after the lockout changed considerably. Let Crosby see how [players] played in the league before. Ovechkin's style is emotional, clean hockey. That's why he is the best player in the NHL right now."

Now Kovalchuk and Crosby do have a bit of a history. The "Kid" was up to his usual business and took a penalty. Kovalchuk promptly rifled a one timer home from the point—unreal how he does that so well— and then pointed directly at Crosby, who was still sitting in the box.

The players know and the fans know that Crosby is a baby. He is a great player, but some of his antics on the ice are disgraceful. His flopping around the ice against the Rangers in the playoffs—yes living in the past a bit—last year was ridiculous and it was made even worse because the league allowed him to get away with it.

This rant is mostly out of frustration. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Crosby on the NBC broadcasts, seeing Crosby in every hockey commercial, watching him take no accountability for his teams troubles, seeing his dives, watching him whine on the ice, and listening to the NHL slobber their poster boy with unwarranted love.

I'm also tired of reading the garbage that the writers on NHL.com and The Hockey News have to say about him. He has been shoved down everyone's throats and I don't think I'm the only one whose tired of it.

Now of course, Crosby didn't choose to be the poster boy or the "savior" of the NHL. But knowing that he is, don't you think he should realize he's under the spotlight and quit his yapping?

Stop acting like Olympic diving is an acceptable part of the sport? Maybe he can try showing some class every once and a while?

Crosby IS a BABY.

But after this long post, everyone already knew that as well.
