Matt Cassel has officially been traded from the New England Patriots to the Kansas City Chiefs.

At this point in time, it is unknown exactly what compensation New England will be getting in the trade, but many speculate that they will receive the Chiefs' second- round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft and possibly a pic(s) in next year's draft.

Yesterday, the Patriots traded Mike Vrabel to the Chiefs and today Matt Cassel will join him. Clearly, Scott Pioli is looking to put the stamp of that "Patriot Way" on the Chiefs in an effort to make them a better organization.

So, at this point in time, it's official that Matt Cassel will be a Kansas City Chiefs.

Ironically, the Chiefs are the same team that took out Tom Brady. Bernard Pollard might be single-handedly responsible for changing the future of his new quarterback and the Chiefs organization as a whole.

Although it might seem bad that the Patriots will be without Cassel's services, it's a good sign regarding Tom Brady's health. I'd speculate that he is doing as well as he seemed to indicate not too long ago.

The bottom line is that the Chiefs are making major moves in the off-season and the continued to make their names heard today with the acquisition of quarterback Matt Cassel.
