The Program: Find out What Everett Golson Brings to the Notre Dame Offense
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are set for a big debut against Navy. New quarterback Everett Golson brings a lot to the table and on this edition of The Program we delve into what the Fighting Irish offense is going to look like with the athletic sophomore at the helm.
We know about the Cierre Wood suspension, which means George Atkinson III and Theo Riddick are the next men up, but we get into how the Irish plan to continue moving the ball on the ground. Both players are capable and on early Saturday morning both of them will get an opportunity to shine on the big stage in one of the Brian Kelly's go-to run plays.
Golson, the talented kid from South Carolina, is the new starter in South Bend and he'll have his work cut out for him. Thanks to being able to use both his arms and legs, the sophomore helps open up Brian Kelly's playbook for both the run and the pass.
Another note to watch is the opposite side of the ball, Notre Dame's defense. It is taking on the precision attack of the Navy Midshipmen and The Program gives a little insight into howg stopped the Irish a year ago and what "can" go wrong if the Irish make mental mistakes.
