With money to burn after selling Luka Modric to Real Madrid, expect this to be the first of several moves made by Tottenham before the Friday deadline.
----------END OF UPDATE----------
Thought by many to be a more-than-capable replacement for the recently departed Luka Modric, Dembele was in the final year of his contract with Fulham.
With that said, it will be interesting to see how Dembele fits in at Modric's old position. Whereas both players are skilled in possession and great at passing and distribution, Dembele brings a physicality to the attacking midfielder position that Modric didn't have.
Dembele also showed a willingness to go back and support the defense at Fulham, something Modric was capable of but not always willing to do. However, Modric's crosses are some of the best in the world, and that's an area of real weakness for Dembele.
Both are superb set-piece takers, with Modric gifted at corners and Dembele more adept at direct kicks.
Subject to completing a medical, Moussa Dembele will join Tottenham in time for the club's next league fixture, this weekend against Norwich City.
