Ohio State defeated Penn State 73-59 on Tuesday and joins four other teams with eight wins in the Big Ten Conference. The Buckeyes made 10 out of 22 attempts from behind the arch led by Jeremie Simmons who was 4-7 from deep range and finished with 14 points.
The win stopped a three game losing streak. After Purdue, the Buckeye’s play at Iowa and finish the regular season at home against Northwestern, both winnable games.
Michigan upended Purdue on Thursday 87-78. Robbie Hummel was back in form with 24 points, but Purdue was unable to stop Manny Harris or DeShawn Sims. Sims finished with 29 points on 13 of 16 shooting and Harris added 27 points and eight rebounds.
The loss snapped a four game win streak for the Boilermakers who now stand two games behind Michigan State for first place. Purdue finishes the regular season next Sunday with a road game in East Lansing.
