In Week 1, I expect Chris Johnson to break out of the slump that ruined his 2011 season and the playoff hopes of so many of Johnson’s fantasy owners.
In hindsight, Johnson clearly came into camp last year out of shape, realized he was playing on a bad team and mailed in the rest of the season.
This is not a lesson you want to teach your little leaguer, but at 26, Johnson still has the physical tools to be an elite runner, and you have to assume he’s motivated by an entire offseason of people calling him CJ1K.
I see Johnson getting a lot of carries early against the Patriots because the Titans will look to protect fledgling QB Jake Locker. When the Pats go up big, which will happen, Johnson is going to get a lot of touches in the check-down and draw game.
Not saying he’s back to CJ2K, but I expect CJ-20+ fantasy points in Week 1.
