Vince Young is cut. However, the mobile quarterback does fit the bill for some teams needing a backup quarterback or potential starter.
The Bills shuffled backup quarterbacks on Monday by completing a deal to acquire Jackson in a trade with Seattle. They then cut Young.
As unsurprising as this was, Young could be a nice addition to any team needing depth and starting experience.
We can't forget that Young—despite his unimpressive numbers—had a winning record as a starter for the Tennessee Titans. And when playing for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, Young defeated the eventual Super Bowl champion New York Giants and threw for 400 yards against the New England Patriots.
So the talent still resides, it's just about getting more consistent. And for the following teams, consistency for the backups must get proven—in the first two cases, the starters as well.
