While TNA Impact Wrestling has been much better over the last nine months, last Thursday’s episode was absolutely terrible.
Somewhere, Vince Russo chuckled maniacally over the conclusion of the A.J. Styles baby storyline.
Now that the worst storyline of the last five years is over and done with, the hope is that the stars involved in that angle stay in the spotlight. Kazarian and Christopher Daniels were great on the mic, but it was the story that stunk.
With just two weeks before the No Surrender pay-per-view, the excitement over the Bound for Glory Series and the tension with the gang Aces and Eights has the Impact Zone on edge.

Bound For Glory Series
With two great matches scheduled for Thursday (Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle and Rob Van Dam vs. James Storm), the fact that there are only two weeks left before No Surrender means the questions about who will be No. 1 contender are almost ready to be answered.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Who will win the BFG Series?
Since there are only four stars that can advance to the finals at the next PPV, this is one of the last two weeks for the stars to grab their points and make a late surge into contention. Stars like Kurt Angle, Mr. Kennedy and Bully Ray are on the outside looking in, and that may not be the case in two weeks.
Hype Meter: 5 out of 5 last-second wins
There is no doubt that one of the stars not in contention in the Bound for Glory Series right now sneaks into the top four. While many feel that Bully Ray deserves the honor, Kurt Angle will add the intrigue to No Surrender that even Bully can’t.

Austin Aries and Aces and Eights
Nothing can make a stable look stronger than attacking the world champion and leaving him injured. After a wild week with the gang in the Impact Zone, this week is sure to further the storyline and possibly reveal when a leader will be named.
Question on Everybody's Mind: Is Aces and Eights working for the next No. 1 contender?
While many fans feel that the eventual No. 1 contender for the world title—whoever it may be—is behind the attacks, that will not be the case. This is all building toward a huge return of a veteran superstar.
Hype Meter: 4 out of 5 Double-J/A-Double matches
While there is no doubt the world champion won’t be down for too long, the excitement over who is leading this gang of thugs is really starting to get people talking. Add in the fact that the TNA superstars are attacking back, and the culmination of this storyline can’t be far off.

More Suck Check
While there is no doubt that this segment is not as good as it could be if there were better independent stars, the fact that it is almost over is a good thing. TNA will hire this latest guy, and Joey Ryan will punch Taz—make it happen, Impact.
Question on Everybody's Mind: When will Joey Ryan get his push?
The hope is that this Gut Check segment will be over after Bound for Glory, and the storyline with the best contestant of them all—Joey Ryan—can continue unabated. That’s what we really want.
Hype Meter: 1 out of 5 terrible segments
As much as this concept should be scrapped, there is almost no doubt that TNA will continue this madness until it signs every mediocre independent wrestler in North America. This segment would be great if it was Davey Richards, Colt Cabana and Sara Del Rey instead of the goobers we got so far.
