Vanderbilt is getting a lot of love—as we used to say—from the guys in Vegas. They are playing host to Top 10 South Carolina and are only getting seven points.
To someone who, once upon a time, would place a wager here and there it says that the book thinks Americans believe in Vanderbilt enough to expect them to play South Carolina close on Thursday night.
Who knows, maybe they will. Vanderbilt has certainly had an attitude adjustment since James Franklin arrived as head coach last year. He is a hard worker. Not just doing the day to day coaching stuff but working hard to get out and keep out the Vandy name.
Here we are at the start of the season and Vanderbilt University's projected signing class is ahead of Tennessee. As Derek Dooley so eloquently said last season, "UT may be down, but we always beat Vandy's as-!"
I'm paraphrasing here actually. I don't have the exact quote but that is close.
If the Vols plan on beating Vandy's butt in recruiting, they will need to do more than they have so far. It's unusual to say the least. I don't recall seeing or hearing Vanderbilt leading UT much in anything football related in my 40 plus years of knowing these guys.
That's another article for another day. Right now, it's about the Commodores getting seven points at home against South Carolina Thursday night.
Don't believe the hype, folks!
