Football is finally here, folks. We've got Alabama taking on Michigan in the Cowboy Classic to headline the weekend, and while everyone is talking storylines, the real issue is the X's and the O's on the field.

We know Alabama wants to run the football. We know Michigan is going to try and use its best weapon, quarterback Denard Robinson, to make big plays happen. Watching it all play out should be interesting.

The zone read is one of Michigan's best weapons. It allows them to get their best player out into the open field and, at times, have a lead blocker guiding him to daylight. Alabama's defense is going to be the next in a long line of teams who want to shut down Denard Robinson.

Can Alabama get it done? We'll see. Physically, this is the best defense Robinson has ever faced, but this is still a Crimson Tide team that is in a bit of transition. If Michigan can capitalize, it will have to come from Robinson passing consistently and the running game getting loose where they can.

As for Alabama, the Tide are looking to beat up Michigan. We'll figure out just who the "real men" are in this game when Alabama tries to dare the Wolverines to get off the canvas. If all goes according to Nick Saban's plan, Michigan will be ready to call it quits come the middle of the third quarter.

Enjoy a little chalk talk as we preview one of the season's biggest matchups.
