It was bound to happen for TNA Wrestling. The Thursday, Aug. 23 edition of Impact! Wrestling saw a major spike in the ratings, as it landed its highest viewership totals in months (via TV By the Numbers).

Impact! Wrestling had a total of 1.71 million viewers. In addition to its rise in viewership, Impact! scored a 0.6 in adults 18-49, allowing TNA to move several spots higher into the Top 30 Cable Television ranking for Thursday night.

The show featured the return of Hollywood Hulk Hogan and a major brawl between Aces and Eights and the TNA wrestling roster.

Is TNA Wrestling Doing Right with Aces and Eights?

After watching this storyline develop in recent months, there is no question that TNA is doing right with Aces and Eights. The heel fraction group, which grew larger on this past Thursday edition of Impact! Wrestling, has tons of potential going forward. TNA needs to stay the course with Aces and Eights in order for it to become successful. So far, the growth of Aces and Eights has been done very effectively.

Will the Ratings Grow Even Higher?

If Impact! can continue to produce the quality episodes it has aired over the last few months, TNA could certainly take the next step. It is not far off from the two-million viewership range, which should be a goal to reach consistently. With Impact! being live for one more month in September, it is crucial for TNA to continue to build more trust back into the product.

It remains to be seen whether Impact! will move to a permanent live time slot, but with the way its shows have been going, I would not be shocked to see it happen.

Despite a tough fall season approaching on cable television, TNA needs to continue to battle and put its best efforts on Impact!
