The Cleveland Browns have once again made a splash on the first day of free agency, trading TE Kellen Winslow to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for draft picks.
GM George Kokinis announced the trade today.
"The draft picks we have obtained through this deal will give us greater flexibility as we look to infuse more talent and create competition and depth on this football team,” he said.
It is unknown what picks or how many Tampa Bay gave up for Winslow. Most would say that with Winslow's off-field issues, he probably only demands a second or third-round pick, but apparently the Browns have managed to acquire multiple picks judging by Kokinis' statement.
Stay tuned. I will be posting again when more information is revealed.
UPDATE: Early reports are a 2009 second round pick and a 2010 fifth round pick.
