Should Terrelle Pryor Play Basketball at Ohio State?
Terrelle Pryor was the No. 1 recruit for football last year. This year, he’s played great for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
However, Pryor also was one of the top in the nation for basketball.
He was ranked No. 15 in the nation as a shooting forward for Jeannette High School in Pennsylvania. He took his team to states and won the basketball state championship just like he did in football.
He scored more than 1,000 points for his team throughout his career.
So shouldn’t he be playing for Ohio State’s basketball team?
It would be great to watch him play basketball for this team, and maybe they would do a lot better if he did. Pryor playing with Evan Turner and William Buford could result in a really athletic team, but he’s not playing, so the question is why not?
Terrelle was recruited mainly for football, his main focus is football, so he is staying committed to that one sport. I’m sure Thad Matta wouldn’t mind him playing on the team, and Buckeye fans would like it too.
Everyone should be happy that he's so dedicated to football right now, though.
The basketball team is doing fine by themselves, and if Pryor got hurt, I don't know what Jim Tressel would do for a star player on offense this year.
