Everybody's excited for football season to come around, but nobody—and we mean nobody—has been anticipating September 1 like Penn State fans, who are beyond eager to get through the worst offseason imaginable.

But in the extremely unlikely event—like, more unlikely than a water landing on an Atlanta-to-Denver flight—that there's a Penn State fan out there who's not jacked for the start of the 2012 season, there's this promo video (via Dr. Saturday). And even if you're not a Penn State fan, you'll be pulling for these guys after seeing this.

The video stops just short of repeating the familiar mantra of Penn State fans, which is the (entirely true) point that these guys aren't the ones who did anything wrong, but they're the ones bearing the brunt of the punishment. You get the sense that they understand that fact quite exquisitely, but at the same time, it's not exactly a pity party.

That's good, though; you don't watch football with the intent of feeling sorry for the guys on the field, you watch because you want to see them obliterate the guy in front of them.

This will be the last weekend without football until February. If Penn State can get through this offseason, we can get through this weekend. And then, glory.
