The 2012 US Open will serve up some of the best tennis that fans will see all year when the season's final Grand Slam tournament begins this Monday from Flushing Meadows, New York.

Returning singles champions Novak Djokovic and Samantha Stosur will be under the spotlight from Day 1, while multiple Open winners like Roger Federer and Serena Williams look to separate themselves from the pack during the first week of play in Queens.

Be sure not to miss a minute of the action from Flushing Meadows this summer. Here we have you covered with where and when to catch all of Week 1's competition.

What to Expect From the Men's Draw

Roger Federer will be the No. 1-seeded player on the men's side this summer. The five-time US Open champion hasn't won it all at Flushing Meadows since 2008, and is a vulnerable top seed at age 31. No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic won in Queens last year, and won't have to worry about rival Rafael Nadal causing him any problems in 2012. Nadal withdrew because of a knee injury.

Another potential champion is No. 3-seeded Andy Murray. The Scotsman won Olympic gold at London earlier this summer, but has never won a Grand Slam title. Expect the US Open championship to come down to the Big Three of Fed, Djokovic and Murray this September, as few competitors on the men's side are capable of outlasting the talented trio.

Victoria Azarenka will enter the US Open as the top-seeded player on the women's side. Azarenka won her first major tournament earlier this year at the 2012 Australian Open, and has been ranked No. 1 in the world since. Agnieszka Radwanska will be the No. 2-seeded player, but she has never won a Grand Slam, nor has she been out of the fourth round at Flushing Meadows.

With that said, No. 3-seeded Maria Sharapova and No. 4-seeded Serena Williams will be the favorites to bring home the US Open crown this September. Sharapova won the Open in 2006, and Williams has won the tournament three times during her career, most recently in 2008. Williams has had a fantastic summer so far, so look for her dominance to continue in Week 1.
