New England Patriots Need a Cornerback

Nathan RollinsContributor IFebruary 27, 2009

The Patriots need a cornerback and Sam Madison would be perfect.

Madison, currently a New York Giant, has 12 years of experience and has won a Super Bowl. He is a great defender who intercepted a pass and recorded eight tackles last year.

He would bring veteran experience to the Pats and be a solid replacement for Deltha O'Neal, who is on the market. O'Neal only had three interceptions in 2008, making it a down year for him.

In fact, Patriots corners had only nine interceptions last year, which was less than Asante Samuels had in 2007 by himself.

So while Madison only had one with the Giants, his play would greatly improve as a Patriot. Now we just have to hope he wants to come to Foxboro.
