If you buy the premise that the Miami Heat are 2013 title favorites (and I do), then you might be scouring the field for competitors, hoping for an injection of drama into next season. Have no fear, as there are a few teams that could challenge Miami.

The stiffest competition is out West, where multiple squads have a shot at 60 wins. In contrast, the East is somewhat depleted in the wake of Derrick Rose's ACL injury and Dwight Howard's trade to Los Angeles. It would seem that, for the foreseeable future, the toughest challenge Miami may face will be in the Finals, not in the Eastern Conference.
