Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com has reported that the Bills have waived defensive backs Josh Nesbitt and Cris Hill. Neither player comes as much of a surprise as each has been injured and slow to heal.
Nesbitt played college football at Georgia Tech and signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent before the start of the 2011 season. At Georgia Tech, Nesbitt played quarterback, but he was willing to make the move to safety in hopes of making the Bills' roster.
Nesbitt started the 2011 season on the practice squad but was promoted to the main roster in November. Nesbitt did not play in any games while on the main roster.
Hill, an undrafted free agent from Virginia Tech, has missed most of training camp with an undisclosed injury. Hill was able to participate in both preseason games for the Bills, but he was a long shot to make the roster.
The Bills' roster now sits at 86 players. As Chris Brown noted, the Bills have to trim their roster down to 75 players by Monday, Aug. 27 at 4 p.m.
