Barclays Premier League continues with Stoke City hosting Arsenal in what looks to be a gritty matchup.

Both teams are coming off of ties.  The frustrating start to each team's season has these clubs looking for retribution in this game.

Arsenal is still reeling from the loss of Robin van Persie.  The team must put the loss behind them and approach this game with a better mentality.

Arsenal needs to bounce back in a big way, as they failed to register a goal in their previous game with Sunderland.  Arsenal will be looking to overcome their inability to score with a more aggressive approach in this match.

Stoke City is coming off of a tie with Reading.  They will also need to adjust their offensive approach and find a way to put the ball in the net.

Arsenal Team Breakdown

Arsenal is coming off of last week's match where they were able to control the ball for most of the game, yet never found an opportunity to score a goal.

Olivier Giroud must have a better performance.  He cannot afford to miss when he has golden scoring opportunities.

Santi Cazorla is going to be counted on again to help control the middle of the field.  His speed and instincts can carry Arsenal.

Summer signing Lukas Podolski needs to make an impression with his new team.  He cannot allow himself to become passive.  When opportunities to attack present themselves, he must take advantage.

Stoke City Team Breakdown

If Stoke City is able to gain a lead in this match, they will need to do a much better job of maintaining that lead than they did last week.

Stoke City cannot rely on mistakes from Arsenal.  They were able to capitalize on poor defense when they scored their only goal against Reading last week.

A key to Stoke City having success in this match could be their ability to get under the skin of their opponent.

This was evident last week when Stoke City registered four yellow cards and one red card.

It did not result in a victory, but it certainly prevented Reading from turning in a better performance.

Prediction:  Arsenal is simply too talented to continue to play down to their competition.  Their star players should perform well in this match.  Stoke City will be difficult to shake, but in the end, Arsenal will finally play up to their ability.  Arsenal wins 1-0.
