The 2012-13 season is finally underway in Europe, and with it comes glorious opportunity for players to seize this time as their own.

Some we've barely heard of will catch fire and blaze a trail. Others with obvious talent will realize their potential. And a handful of the already brilliant will take what they can do into the stratosphere.

The names mentioned here include Chelsea's summer signing Eden Hazard, U.S. national team youngster Jozy Altidore and Manchester United's Japanese star Shinji Kagawa.

There's also a hat tipped to Swansea striker Michu, Brazilian midfielder Oscar and Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba.

No doubt there are some we've missed. And some you don't agree with. But when it comes to football, starting a passionate debate can never be bad thing.

In this clip, B/R's Will Tidey and Michael Cummings run down their five breakout players for the 2012-13 season.
