DeAngelo Hall Could Be Next Big Name in Foxborough

Brian HutchisonCorrespondent IFebruary 26, 2009

According to the Boston Globe, the Patriots might be interested in signing DeAngelo Hall this offseason. They had a significant interest in signing him last year after the Raiders let him go but as we all know, he eventually signed with the Redskins instead.

The Patriots aren't going to do much spending this offseason with most of their cap money going toward players who are already on the roster. However, Coach Belichick knows he must upgrade his secondary if the Pats plan to regain their reputation as a dynasty.

A lot of people liked what they saw in Terrence Wheatley and Jonathan Wilhite last year, but I still don't feel safe starting one of them opposite Ellis Hobbs.

The Patriots are also targeting a defender in the first round of this year's draft. The most common name being thrown around is Brian Cushing, LB of USC.

With the additions of a premiere cornerback and another potential stud at linebacker, Patriot fans should have a lot to look forward to next season.
