It's time for the world to welcome back Jeff Kent, as he'll take on the long-running show Survivor when it descends upon the Philippines.

IMDB (h/t Huffington Post) reports that the legendary second baseman will officially duke it out with other Survivor hopefuls on the 25th season of the hit show.

However, he's not the only face from days gone by to compete this season.

Some extremely huge Facts of Life fans will be tickled to know that Lisa Whelchel will also be on this season. Whelchel is best known for playing the self-involved Blair Warner.

I'm not sure which is more shocking: the fact that we have 25 seasons of this show or that a future Hall of Fame player will be featured on it.

I can guarantee that the show will be heavy with Kent, because a man with his personality will not stay in the shadows for long.

There was hardly a more bitter player in baseball when Kent roamed up the middle. He played with a chip every inning of every game, which may be one of the reasons he was so great.

Still, we have to think his long-standing feud with Barry Bonds and other players and personnel will translate to Survivor quite well.

Teams and alliances will be set quickly, but enemies will be formed quickly as well. That is where Kent will surely shine.

The man was never one to keep his feelings to himself, making Season 25 a must-watch for even the most fair-weather of fans.
