Indianapolis Colts vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: Preseason Week 2 Live Blog

The first Sunday Night Football game of the year happened to be a good matchup. Many thought Pittsburgh would steamroll the Colts, but Indy held their own. After Pittsburgh scored on a 57-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger to Antonio Brown, the Steelers answered with a pick six on Andrew Luck's first career NFL interception to make the score 14-0.
From there, the Colts stepped up and stopped beating themselves and score 17 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 17-14 halftime lead.
The Colts, started the third quarter off pretty good after getting their punt blocked and giving up a field goal to tie the game at 17. Second string quarterback Drew Stanton hit rookie receiver Griff Whalen for a touchdown to give the Colts the lead back at 24-17.
That was the last time the Colts would score as Pittsburgh kicked three more field goals including one with 20 seconds left to seal the victory. Both teams are now 1-1 in the preseason and need to fix some holes and get healthy as we're now at the halfway point in the preseason.
After a wild play to end the game Pittsburgh seals the victory in a 26-24 win over the Colts.
4th and 10 with five seconds left from the 20. Hail Mary time for the Colts to try and pullout the win.
3rd and 10 with 10 seconds left the Colts need to go at least 40 yards with no timeouts for a shot at the win.
The Colts defense makes a good goaline stand as they stop Pittsburgh's three straight rushing attempts from inside the five.
Ford's injury must have been minor as he has reentered the game with Pittsburgh's goalline stand.
TWO MINUTE WARNING: Pittsburgh lost last week to the Eagles 24-23 in their preseason opener. They trail once again 24-23, but have the ball at the 1-yardline facing first and goal with two minutes left. The Colts only have one timeout remaining so it looks like the Steelers have a good shot at pulling out the win.
Pittsburgh is driving late as they're looking to take their first lead of the game since they were up 14-0 with just over three minutes left in the first quarter.
They currently trail 24-23 with just over two minutes left of the game and have the ball in the redzone.
The running back scenario went from bad to worse to Pittsburgh as Jason Ford just went down with an injury. Ford has six carries for 46 yards tonight prior to his injury.
Ford joins Isaac Redmon, Rashard Mendenhall, and John Clay as injured backs in the Steelers offense.
David Gilreath once again makes a big reception in staying balanced with taking a hit prior to the first down marker and running for the first down. It was Gilreath's fourth catch of the game which all happened to be on third down to convert first downs.
Gilreath leads all Pittsburgh receivers with four catches for 78 yards.
INTERCEPTION: Chandler Harnish makes a bad decision on second down to force a throw to his right near the sideline a it's picked off by Steelers corner Victorian. It's the third interception for the Steelers defense tonight.
Harnish hits Whalen again on a big third down conversion. Whalen is really showing he deserves to be in the consideration for a roster spot with three huge catches tonight including two to keep this drive going in the fourth.
Chandler Harnish hits Griff Whalen for a big 27-yard pass as the Colts were facing 3rd and 20 from deep inside their own zone. This is Whalen's second big grab of the night as he scored the only touchdown this half in the third quarter.
Chandler Harnish enters the game as the Colts third string quarterback tonight. Second string Drew Stanton had a rough night in finishing 4 for 13 with 69 yards, and one touchdown.
Last week, Stanton was 8 for 11 with 83 yards against St. Louis.
Penalties are killing the Steelers this drive as they now face 3rd and 29. Their offensive line is struggling to keep the Colts off a good pass rush and they're holding.
David Gilreath makes his third reception for a first down in the last two possessions and puts the Steelers inside the 50. Gilreath didn't have a catch at all last week against the Eagles as he now has three receptions for 72 yards tonight.
Former Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson takes over the quarterbacking reigns for the Steelers in the fourth quarter. Charlie Batch exits the game 7 for 10 with 84 yards, and zero touchdowns or interceptions.
Starter Ben Roethlisberger was 5 for 9 with 81 yards, and one touchdown and interceptions apiece.
The Steelers made a great defensive stand and forced the Colts into a second straight three-in-out. The Indy offense hasn't played very well this half outside of one drive.

The third quarter has come to an end with the Colts leading the Steelers 24-20 entering the final quarter of play. Both teams have played pretty good as Indy is facing a third down to start the fourth quarter.
Drake Nevis sacks Charlie Batch on third down as the Steelers are forced for yet another field goal. Offensive line woes continue for Pittsburgh.
Batch his Gilreath again for a first down on third down to keep the drive alive for Pittsburgh. Batch picked up the blitz extremely well as the Colts were rushing from the right side and Batch his Gilreath for a short first down pass to the left.
Very good play from the veteran QB.
Charlie Batch hits David Gilreath on a big 41-yard pass down the right sideline. It's the first first down for the Steelers this half as they will have first and 10 from the Colts 45.
Pittsburgh has a good defensive stand and hold Indianapolis to a three-in-out. It's the second three-in-out for Indy this half out of three possessions.
Pittsburgh still struggling to move the ball on offense as the Colts hold them to yet another three-in-out. The Steelers only gained seven yards on this drive, and only has 10 total yards on two drives this half.

Drew Stanton looking very solid so far. A good backup quarterback is something Indy has been lacking and the addition of Stanton in the offseason gives them a good option.
Stanton's moving the ball well this drive as the Colts have moved 60-yards in five plays and only 50-seconds. He's passing to the second and third string receivers and making them look good.
New look Colts defense is really looking good after one 1/2 games this preseason. They may have given up 14 points tonight and had a rough time taclking on one possession, but overall they've been pretty solid.
The Steelers only have five first downs for the game and have been held under 100 yards in both receiving and passing categories. The defense is showing more quarterback pressure and doing a lot better job in coverage.
Pittsburgh needs to work on offensive line protection as they've struggled tonight.
