No doubt the biggest star in Denver Broncos training camp has been Peyton Manning, but the biggest surprise coming out of Dove Valley has been the play of rookie defensive lineman Derek Wolfe.

Wolfe, the No. 36 pick out of University of Cincinnati, had two sacks and a tackle for a loss in his first NFL game against Chicago. The prospect of adding Wolfe to a Denver pass-rush that already features last year’s Defensive Rookie of the Year, Von Miller, has Broncos fans salivating and opposing offensive coordinators quaking in their film rooms.

On the backside of the Denver defense, second-year safety Rahim Moore has worked his way out of the doghouse and back atop the depth chart. Moore will be a key contributor for a Broncos secondary that was near the bottom of the league in interceptions and will need to replace veteran leader Brian Dawkins.

Rookie QB Brock Osweiler has been the standout on the offensive side of the ball for the Broncos and has created a legit quarterback battle for the No. 2 spot behind Manning.
