Glasgow Rangers have drawn Sporting Lisbon in the quarter finals of the UEFA Cup having eliminated Werder Bremen yesterday 2-1 on aggregate.

Today's draw in Zyon maps out the rest of the journey to the final.

Quarter-finals:

1. Bayer Leverkusen—Zenit St Petersburg
2. Rangers—Sporting Lisbon
3. Bayern Munich—Getafe
4. Fiorentina—PSV Eindhoven

Semi-finals:

Winners QF 3—Winners QF 1
Winners QF 2—Winners QF 4

Rangers open thier final eight tie at Ibrox April 3, with the second leg in Lisbon April 10. Sporting, like Rangers, parachuted into the UEFA Cup from Champions league play. They advanced to the quarter final having beaten Basel 5-0 and Bolton 2-1.

Prediction: If Rangers maintain thier 'Fortress Ibrox' mentality they will advance 3-1 on aggregate. The players are confident and feel they CAN win. This is a huge advantage and stands in stark contrast to previous years when the side felt they had accomplished enough simply by not being knocked out early.
