How in the world does an "expert NFL analyst" such as Marshall Faulk go on the record on LIVE television on the NFL Network's Total Access program get away with what he did last night?

He was completley unprepared for his reporting on the Bills.

He couldn't pronounce players/coaches names properly for one.  He said that with 'Lows-men' (another pronouncment blunder) at QB the Bills would win only one game in 2007 as Rich Eisen called him out on.

He followed that up by saying, "luckily" he (Losman) got hurt and they had to bring in Trent Edwards as the starter.

What human being goes on the record stating that a team got lucky by having a player get hurt?

He also stated that Steve Fairchild did a "great job" and now that's he's gone to Colorodo, the Bills are in trouble with  new Offensive Coordinator, Turk Schonert (who he couldn't pronounce right either).

But what got me the most was when he said that one of the Bills needs for '08 was to strengthen a 'struggling' offensive line, in particular, at center, AND at LT.

Lets face it, Fowler isn't the true answer at center, but there's a Pro Bowler in Jason Peters at Left Tackle.  What is he talking about?

And, didn't the Bills beef up a 'struggling' 'O' line last off-season?  What a moron!!

He also went on to say that the Bills had lost a lot of experience and leadership when they let Nate Clements and other key players go on the Defensive side of the ball causing their 'D' which went from 7th to 29th in the league, without mentioning that the defense was decimated with injuries (17 on injured reserve) for the 2007 seson.

Faulk is a "Total Access" embarassment!

Oh - and yes, they were aslo kind enough to put the clip up on their web site.  Here's the link to the VIDEO from the "State of the Franchise: Buffalo Bills" 3-13-2008

Here is the video

  1. I still think they should have put Losman back in as the starter as soon as he got healed up. While he couldn't do much, he at least throws to Lee Evans.

    1. I'm not a JP basher at all. I believe he's got all the talent necessary to be successfull in the NFL. He had many terrible experiences in Buffalo from day 1. However, I did like what I saw from Trent Edwards in his rookie debut. I think he has what is needed to be a good QB in the NFL as well. I'm on the fence on what to do w/ JP right now. I'm leaning to keeping him for the 08 season, but I'm not sure if he'll be the class act this year as he was last, as for being the #2. DJ has said that he'd still like to keep JP, he likes JP and he'd like for some competition at the position.

  2. I'm now getting a report from Chris Brown from BuffaloBills.com:

Johnson to 49ers report makes sense
Today Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 11:34 AM ET | Link

JOHNSON TO 49ERS REPORT MAKES SENSE: Hearing these reports about Bryant Johnson taking a one-year deal with the 49ers makes sense because I've learned that as of Thursday a one-year deal was all they were interested in. As I suspected yesterday, after seeing Justin McCareins and Drew Carter take one-year deals (Tennessee and Oakland) that Johnson in a lukewarm market would do the same. I'll have more on what went down with Johnson once I can confirm the 49ers report myself.

  3. Thank you I was hoping that someone would say something about this MORON he knows absoluty nothing as soon as he said that we need a LT I was whoa we have one of the most elite LT in the game in JP what the hell is his problem he cant even pronounce names right I dont understand how they can call him a expert he is FAR from that I do not like his Milk dud head having ass what a Poor excuse for a so called football expert...MARSHALL FAULK YOU SUCK

  4. Your welcome. Marshall Faulk is a "self proclaimed" expert. I'm surprised you didn't already know that. Last night was POSITIVE proof with his enormous knowledge base of the NFL, let alone the Bills. His comment about how the team was lucky that JP got hurt shows all you need to know about that MORON.

  5. While the Network seems to get all the details on T.O., the Cowboys, or the Tuna correct, how can they continually put uninformed, or just lazy, former players on their banner show "Total Access?" It wasn't just an embarrassment listening to Marshall Faulk on Thursday 3/13, it showed the lack of overall respect for all franchises, (I thought this was the NFL Network, not the Cowboys' Network). Eisen and Faulk didn't only put their feet in their mouths, they didn't even have the integrity to pronounce names correctly. As to "beefing up the offensive line", and "needing a left tackle," where has Faulk's head been this past year? Loosing names on "D" that "helped the team win" . . . what the heck is he talking about doesn't he read the transaction reports, or is it he just doesn't read? And how can anyone respond directly to the Network, try to find a "response" , or "contact us" link on their site. I'm guessing they don't want to hear the criticisms, although they seem willing to parcel out their own uninformed version of the "objective" truth.

    1. Valid point, I too have noticed how the national media seems to just fawn over the Cowboys. I'm a Packer fan and I was surprised when the Pro Bowl votes came out, Dallas had an inordinant amount of players sent to the Pro Bowl, while I felt that my team or even some others had more deserving players. Not too mention their kicker was voted to the Pro Bowl, odd considering Mason Crosby the Packer's kicker led the NFL in points this last season and had to kick at LAMBEAU FIELD not in Texas. Plus I have to give the Bills at least a little love, they're my second favorite team.

    1. I wasn't really upset at Rich Eisen. If he hadn't mentioned what Faulk predicted the Bills would do in 2007 I doubt it would have been brought up at all. He was the one that directed to Faulk, about 'burying the Bills' last year.

You know exactly where Faulk's head has been, but I'm trying to keep it clean here.

I've looked into trying to "Contact us", but as you said, one can't find where to do so. That's why we are here today discussing this amongst ourselves and NOT w/ the Network itself.

  7. PLAIN AND SIMPLE IF YOUR A BILLS FAN AND WATCHED THAT YOU BEGIN TO LAUGH BECUASE OUR TEAM STATISTICALLY WASNT GREAT BUT, BUT STILL SHOWED UP AND PLAYED INJURED. THEY ONLY NEED TO PLUG A FEW PIECES INTO THE PUZZLE AND THE PATS ARE IN TROUBLE. I LIKE THE COMPETIVE NATURE AND HUNGER THESE GUYS SHOW EVEN WHEN THEY ARE BANGED UP. MARSHALL FAULK IS A BUM PERIOD ALWAYS WILL BE. AS FOR THE FIRST POST EDWARDS SPREADS THE BALL AND CAN RUN A NO HUNDLE AS A ROOKIE SOMETHING LOSMAN HAS YET TO SHOW.

    1. While I was watching that fiasco authored by Marshall Faulk, I had to stop the DVR several times to either backup and replay something, or to just simply get out a LOUD laugh and hit play again.

Well, now w/ Johnson gone to the 49ers, looks to me like we'll be looking @ WR w/ our #1. I guess at this point you would have to hope that the Anderson signing does make an impact especially w/ his size. Turk wants a fullback to lead the way for our backs. Get that done, assuming Trent's 2007 experience can help him be even better in 2008, I would say our backfield would be COMPLETE. That big #2 WR is key IMO.

I'm OK w/ them looking @ the DE position, and I'm sure they'll address CB early in the draft.

There ARE guys that we already have that just need that chance as Fred Jackson got last year. They alreday have a good sense of the offense which is far ahead of rookies aquired in the draft.

I think we are going in the right direction, but we obviously still have some needs to take care of. Our record WILL improve in 2008.

  8. Hmmmm, I just had a thought. It would be interesting to call into Sirius NFL Radio when Solomon Wilcox is on and ask him how he'd defend his fellow NFL Network Analyst's comments on "The Franchise of the Bills" aired last night. At least we know we can actually call into Sirius NFL Radio and ask/comment on something.

  9. Good Article. I agree it had to be said. I thought it was the NFL Network and not the Patriots or Cowboys Network. Unbiased respect for all teams is needed especially on the NFL Network. That was a horrible report on their part but I have to place a lot of the blame of the doorstep of Marshall Faulk.

    1. I couldn't agree w/ you more. Initially when I heard that the NFL Network was about to go live, I was SO excited. I thought it was a GREAT asset for the NFL & more importantly, the fans. I DO watch on regular basis unless.......... I do agree though about how they continue to hammer away w/ one particular team/player. I understand when Favre retired that he deserved 'some' coverage, but an entire week/weekend?

I thank you for your article on the REAL State of the Bills. It was acurate and nice to read after I wrote about the airing last night, and how Marshall Faulk was just unbelievable (to say the least).

  10. What a poor excuse for "state of the franchise" and also with devin thomas as the 11th pick??? don't think so. sorry.

  11. I hate hearing Marshall Faulk talk on Madden 08 (he's an idiot there and on live tv)

just thought I would throw that into the argument

  12. I am a fan of the NFL network singularly for the 24/7 coverage. I do not condone innacurate reporting from their analysts, nor do I condone innacurate articles. You explicitly wrote that:
"What human being goes on the record stating that a team got lucky by having a player get hurt?"

hmmmm maybe anybody who has followed the carrers of the following Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, who only got a chance to play for their respective teams, at the time, due to injury.

-Doug Williams replaced Jay Schroeder in the redskins superbowl season due to injury
-Brett favre replaced an injured Don Makowski after a week 3 injury and history speaks for itself
-maybe the best one: Ben Roethlisberger starts 04/05 season as #3 qb on depth chart. Charlie Batch/Tommy Maddox injured and Ben plays out the seaon leading the team to a Super Bowl win the following season.

Aside from that miscue you have an interesting article...... minus the home-team bias that is littered throughout your sentences.

    1. I too am a fan of the NFL Network. I've watched it since day 1.

I'm sure there will be many more additions to your arguement, but that was 1/3 of what the original article was all about.

I also wrote that: he (Faulk) couldn't properly pronounce players & coaches names (even close). Nor did he have ANY knowledge of the 2007 team itself. He obvioulsy proved that w/ his remarks on both Steve Fairchild and the struggles w/ the offensive line. Specifically, @ C & a Pro Bowl LT.

Faulk then followed that up w/ how the Bills let key players like Nate Clements, Takeo Spikes, London Fletcher go which resulted in thier defense going from 7th to 29th in the league. What have they done for the NFL lately since they were released from the Bills? He never mentioned that the defense was ripped apart via injured reserve, and playing vastly 2nd and 3rd tier players. Depth can only go so far when there are 17 players on IR.

Yes, I am a Bills fan, so as for being biased, it is what it is. I'm also a huge NFL fan as well. I was simply writing an article about the unprofessional manner in which Marshall Faulk conducted in front of ALL NFL fans abroad.

  13. I can't stand post-NFL-career Faulk. Seems bitter and annoying.

  14. I cant believe they just brought up this article on NFL network. Faulk made excuses for his poor performance instead of just being a man and taking his lumps. I thought better of him

  15. Yeah, I was taken back a bit myself when I saw the show. It was nice seeing Marshall Faulk sqwirm like he did. Quite deserving, I thought.

  16. What did Faulk say about the article exactly! Did he say we need a new deep threat or punter? Or maybe a new RB?!!

  17. See my 2nd article from last night's Total Access program w/ Marshall's remarks.

  18. Dear Anonymous-from about 10 hours ago,
The reason you cant believe they just brought up this article on NFL network......... is because they didn't. Get it right.

    1. You need to see last nights NFL Total Access that aired at 7:00 PM and re-aired again @ 10:30. They not only said it was right from BleacherReport.com, but they put the exact quotes from this article on the screen.

  19. idiots like Matt here are why i don't generally participate in these types of things anymore. what part of them mentioning bleacher report blogs criticizing Mr. Faulk is them not bringing it up?

Feel free to refrain from telling others to "get it right" unless you are sure they are wrong

    1. Thanks. I'm new here and don't really know the 'players' here. I saw what was happening and just let it go. I know the truth and have had many positive props for the article. I jut wished they didn't change my Tiltle to the article. I was out yestedray and didn't notice it until today when I logged on.

  20. faulk is a bills hater from his days in indy when we shut him down! he also went on to say that we will be one game better or one game wrose than last year. pretty funny we have an easier schedule and we get how mant starters back on defense? opps almost forgot mitchell and stroud..........what an idiot the only reason hes on that show is because of his name, he does no research when scouting teams/players

  21. NFL players who retire should stay away from people, bad things happen if they don't.

    Just look at Tiki Barber.

  22. I am a bills fan and agree faulk sucked...but to his defense..he did mention the 17 injuries

    1. Yes he did, but he w as more focused on the KEY guys that Buffalo released or didn't re-sign as the reason that the defense went from 17th - 31st.
