As we ready our grills and tailgates for the college football season, thousands of true freshmen around the country are attempting to fit in at their new schools and learn new offenses. It’s not easy being the new guy, but many of these young players will have opportunities to contribute right away.
This trend has only grown over the years as player development has improved, and many of these newbies will have significant roles while they work their way up the depth charts. This has left an important void to fill, and although those with experience might have the first crack at moving up the depth chart, some of these newcomers are simply too talented to ignore.
