Fantasy Football: 2012 Streaming Team Defense Weekly Plan

It’s early. The preseason is just kicking off. You don’t really know what teams are going to look like. Between injuries, personnel changes and schedule, a team can surprise by being better or worse than expected.

That said, you have to draft a fantasy defense prior to the start of the season. Assuming you don’t land the Niners, Steelers, Ravens, Jets, Eagles, Texans, Packers or Giants you may end up streaming your defenses this year.

Here’s an early season plan that can serve as a guideline as you assemble your 2012 fantasy football roster.

 

Week 1

Arizona—Faces Seattle. Uncertainty at QB makes this a solid streamer option.
Atlanta—Faces Kansas City. Jamaal Charles is back, but they have question marks at QB as well.
Detroit—Faces St. Louis. They struggle to keep Sam Bradford upright. Going against Suh isn’t ideal.
Chicago—Faces Indianapolis. Andrew Luck’s debut.
Minnesota—Faces Jacksonville. If MJD is playing, he’ll likely be rusty.

 

Week 2

Buffalo—Faces Kansas City.
Cincinnati—Faces Cleveland. Weeden will still be going through growing pains.
Dallas—Faces Seattle. QB play still an issue?
Minnesota—Faces Indianapolis. Jared Allen could make Luck uncomfortable.
New England—Faces Arizona. QB play is uncertain.
Oakland—Faces Miami. Talent is thin in South Beach.

Week 3

Buffalo—Faces Cleveland. Second straight solid matchup.
Chicago—Faces. St. Louis. How are they going to contain Peppers?
Indianapolis—Faces Jacksonville. Ugly game?
Jacksonville—Faces Indianapolis. Ugly game?

 

Week 4

Arizona—Faces Miami. Do they have enough playmakers?
Cincinnati—Faces Jacksonville. Jags appear to be a go-to team when selecting defense.
Seattle—Faces St. Louis. Ugly game?
St. Louis—Faces Seattle. Ugly game?

 

Week 5

Arizona—Faces St. Louis. Second straight solid matchup.
Cincinnati—Faces Miami. Second straight solid matchup.

 

Week 6

Buffalo—Faces Arizona. Super Mario too much to handle?
Cincinnati—Faces Cleveland. Third straight solid matchup.
Miami—Faces St. Louis. Ugly game?
New England—Faces Seattle. Pats' offense could take run option away.
St. Louis—Faces Miami. Ugly game?

 

Week 7

Cleveland—Faces Indianapolis. Ugly game?
Indianapolis—Faces Cleveland. Ugly game?
Oakland—Faces Jacksonville. Jags appear to be a go-to team when selecting defense.

Week 8

Detroit—Faces Seattle. Suh too much?
New England—Faces St. Louis. Pats' offense makes St. Louis one-dimensional.
Tennessee—Faces Indianapolis. Tough test for Luck?

 

Week 9

Detroit—Faces Jacksonville. Jags appear to be a go-to team when selecting defense.

 

Week 10

Indianapolis—Faces Jacksonville. Ugly game?
Jacksonville—Faces Indianapolis. Ugly game?

 

Week 11

Atlanta—Faces Arizona. QB could be an issue all year.
Buffalo—Faces Miami. Tannehill time? Super Mario too much?
Cincinnati—Faces Kansas City. QB could be an issue all year.
Dallas—Faces Cleveland. Offense takes Browns out of their run-heavy approach?
New England—Faces Indianapolis. Can Luck handle the pressure of playing the Pats?

 

Week 12

Arizona—Faces St. Louis. Will Rams continue struggling to score?
Buffalo—Faces Indianapolis. Second straight solid matchup.
Denver—Faces Kansas City. QB could be an issue all year.
Tennessee—Faces Jacksonville. Jags appear to be a go-to team when selecting defense.

 

Week 13

Buffalo—Faces Jacksonville. Third straight solid matchup.
Chicago—Faces Seattle. Peppers too much?
Detroit—Faces Indianapolis. Will Suh intimidate Luck?
Oakland—Faces Cleveland. Will Browns struggle to score?

Tennessee—Faces Indianapolis.

 

Week 15

Buffalo—Faces Seattle. Fifth straight solid matchup.
Detroit—Faces Arizona. QB could be an issue all year.
Miami—Faces Jacksonville. Jags appear to be a go-to team when selecting defense.
Minnesota—Faces St. Louis. Jared Allen watch.
Washington—Faces Cleveland. Will Browns struggle to score?

 

Week 16

Buffalo—Faces Miami. Sixth straight solid matchup.
Chicago—Faces Arizona. QB could be an issue all year.
New England—Faces Jacksonville. Jags appear to be a go-to team when selecting defense.
Tampa Bay—Faces St. Louis. Will Rams continue struggling to score?

 

Week 17

New England—Faces Miami. Second straight solid matchup.
Seattle—Faces St. Louis. Will Rams pack it in?
Tennessee—Faces Jacksonville. Jags appear to be a go-to team when selecting defense.
